Featuring the tan and white Whippet dog breed figurines, gifts and collectibles. The Whippet is a medium-sized sighthound dog breed originating from England. It was originally a greyhound but was deemed unsuitable for hunting because of its size. Therefore, it was returned to peasant breeders and maimed so that it could no longer be used to hunt and break Forest laws. The peasant breeders bred them together and used them to catch rats and hunt rabbits. When the Forest law was repealed, the dogs were used in racing and became known as the poor man's racehorse. They can run at speeds up to 35 miles per hour and can even challenge a greyhound. In addition, they are used in dog sports such as lure coursing, agility and flyball.
