Elk Cow

The female Cow Elk lives in loose herds or groups with her calves and yearlings in North America and Eastern Asia. They can weigh up to 500 pounds and 6 1/2 feet from nose to tail. These animals feed on grasses, plants and barks. Cows bark to warn others of danger and mew to keep track of one another. They make signals to their calves by whining softly.
